School

This is the first day. For Zach, it was the first day ever riding the bus. Kaden had to pack school supplies and football gear. Sadie was loaded up too. Gabe had to stay home, but he was there to wave goodbye at the bus.

Agrium Picnic

I know i am getting things out of order, but oh well. This is the annual Agrium family picnic. The kids love it for the rock wall, blow up slides, fishing, food, and free ice cream. This year, the kids got their hair spray painted too. Zach spent a lot of time climbing the rock tower. He was so little up there, but he always made it to the top. Gabe played in the bouncy slide area a lot. Sadie played bingo with mom and avoided the fish pond. Kaden fished and also cleaned fish for a scout fund raiser. He rode in the back of the truck on the way home. We love the Agrium picnic and look forward to it every year.

Wrestling, 2010

Wresting season is over for Kaden now. He had a good year at 105 lbs. He took 1st at the Irving invitational, 1st at the Malad tournament, and 4th at district. This is a picture of Kaden talking to his coach before his final match.

Halloween, 2010

This year, Kaden was too old for costumes, but not too old for facepaint and blue hair. Sadie had several costumes, but finally settled on one for that night. Zach went as a ninja turtle, and Gabe was a crocodile or something.

Maybe they'll sleep better??

I put this on the tv when it was time to clean up the living room. I was thinking that it would reduce the amount of fighting that comes with chores. This is what I saw when I came back 5 minutes later.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Sadie has started learning the violin. She is really excited about it. I would rather hear this choppy version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star than just about any song on the radio.

Kaden's First Deer

Kaden and I have been hunting deer together since he was little, but this year was different because he got to carry a gun. Wrestling practice got in the way during the week, but the first chance we got, we went hunting. On our second day of hunting, we saw a group of five does about 50 yards away. Kaden was nervous, but held steady on one doe as she bounced away and shot her through the lungs at 75 yards out. She ran for about 50 yards and fell over dead. He couldn't quit smiling. We went on and about 10 minutes later, I shot this little buck. Kaden thinks it is funny that I ruined the backstraps by shooting too high. We cleaned both deer and got home by about 9:30 am.

Getting Ready

Kaden is excited about football this year. He asked me to help him learn how to lift weights, so I'm trying my best. He runs home from the gym after we are done. I limp from the truck to the house. The other day, he was doing this shoulder press and at the end he made me laugh when he got excited and said, "50 pounds! That's as much as a sack of goat feed!" I laughed and thought to myself, what have I done to this kid that he relates his new life experiences back to GOATS!

BSADI

Molly and I got to be parents for the Youth Conference this year. It was a great experience and we learned a lot from our "kids". It wore us out, but it sure was fun. Molly did a great job with the youth. Mom and Dad watched our real kids while we were off in the hills.

Donahoo Reunion, 2010

We had our Wes & Kathy Donahoo reunion at Bear Lake this year. Everybody made it. More pics will be posted later, but this is our display of tie-dye shirts that we made. The flag is in the background because it was the 4th of July. It was a good time and great to see everybody again. (Gpa and Gma Donahoo were also there, but not for this picture)

Fishing with the boys

Yesterday, Molly and Sadie had to get ready for the dance recital, so we went to Chesterfield reservoir to try out our "new" boat. It floated, without any leaks. No fish this time, and the motor wouldn't start, but Ben towed us out and we anchored. It was nice and warm. Looking forward to more of that.

ER visit w/Gabe

Gabe fell off the stairs on the slide at the park and banged up his head pretty good. He has a big goose egg right above the back of his neck and a gross looking knot near his left temple. He spent a couple of hours at the hospital last night, but he is home now and doing better. We asked him to get his pajamas on last night and got on his stomach to go headfirst down the stairs like superman. We stopped him in time to avoid another trip in to the ER. I'll post pics soon.

ZACH-1 Launch

Today, we launched Zach's rocket. He was so excited to build it and have a rocket that launched with a "controller". The first attempt was a little sketchy, but it finally went. The second went smooth with Zach at the controls. It went very high and landed safely without damage.

Zach wanted his friend Brigham to be there to see it, so we invited him and his family. Zach's uncle Jake was there too. Thanks to Becca for the pictures and the video on Youtube!
