THE COOP IS READY

The coop is ready, the chickens are not. They aren't quite old enough yet. We are going to put this coop up on blocks inside a fenced in area out in the back yard. We hope they like it....but if they don't, we'll just eat them. Ha!

Building the COOP!

We bought 4 chicks this spring and decided to build a coop. So, with some advice from Jake, we started. As you can see, the whole family helped. It took most of a day because we are not very good at this stuff, but it was sure fun. Zach didn't like the noise of the saws, so he wore the earmuffs most of the day. Kaden was a big help. Molly ran the powertools because I can't do anything yet (doc's orders). Sadie collected wood scraps and nailed them together. Gabe mostly ran into things. We eventually finished and when the chicks get their feathers, they will move in.

Fine Dining

Nothing but the best for dinner at our house. I'd rather eat like this than just about anything. It is so fun to cook over the fire and see the kids mess up their hotdogs and marshmallows.

Don't clean your room!

This is Sadie at school and her organization skills are clearly demonstrated by the picture of her desk. She is very clean and it drives her crazy to have any clutter. This is very frustrating to me as a parent. Read on and you will understand...

One day, I was trying to come up with a punishment for Sadie and I decided to have her clean the toilets in all 3 bathrooms. I thought it was a great idea. Unfortunately, she enjoyed it and even emptied all the garbages too. I have now decided that her punishments will be things like not cleaning her room for a week, or maybe I'll make her mess up her shoes in the closet. This would be devestating to her.

Whitney, ID Cemetery

Recently, we took the kids to a little cemetery in Whitney, Idaho. It isn't very far from us and we wanted to see the grave of Ezra Taft Benson. It was a neat little cemetery and we told the kids stories about him while we were there.

Sadie's Big Day

Sadie was baptized on March 28th, 2009 by her dad and her grandpa. Grandpa was asked to help because I had back surgery one week before. It was a good day and a lot of family came.
